Rice County’s 58 coaches earned an average salary of $46,824 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the sixth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Minnesota post-secondary schools during 2022.

Rice County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Carleton College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $55,997.

Male coaches of men's teams received $44,315 on average in Rice County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $42,344.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
